Need spare time... by kanyiko Need spare time... by kanyiko
EDIT: please view this first:

... or a less time-consuming hobby.

This veritable mountain of model kits is that heap of kits which I am still to build...

Yeah, I can already hear you think it. I most definitely need a life... ^^;

...

Addendum: kits finished on December 30, 2006:

Airco DH4
Convair F-106A Delta Dart
Republic F-84F Thunderstreak (1 of 2)
Republic F-105D Thunderchief

I wish I had Airfix´s Airco DH4 and one of the two Fireflies! But I share the same problem with you: lack of time... and of room. I must have around 100 models to build (yes, no joking) to join the other 100 ones I have already done, some of which can be seen in one of my folders here... I have more models to do than room left to display them if all were done. But I´m just a fanatic of this hobby, so glad to have found someone who seems to share it with me ;) Go on with it! ;D

You need a spare space, not time.

Of those I also have Revell's Me Bf109, Me-262 and F4U-5, though only the first is assembled. The rest, along with Spad XIII C-1 was spared for my project of jet biplane.

You heard right, jet biplane.

... you might be right there. ^^;

By the way, jet biplanes - it has been done for real. The Poles built one in the '70s: the PZL-Mielec M-15 "Belphegor", with 175 built. Not the biggest success in aviation ever, though.

Yeah, but I want it to look like Me-262 if it was build in 1920s :) Basically a Spad with Me-262 jet engines, makeshift cockpit and some other adds. I chose it a name, R-XI Polonez, because I got really interested in R-XIII Lublin recently.

Don't expect anything cool, I'm still at basic level of modeling.

Even so, it's a very cool idea in itself! :)

Do you have any models by Zvezda?

Mostly repackaged and rebranded ones. I know I have the MiG-3, La-5FN and SU-22 (repackaged Revell), and the MiG-23 (repackaged Italeri); there might be some others as well (I can't say it directly off the top of my head). For some odd reason, we couldn't get Zvezda directly for a long time (probably because Italeri reboxed them for our market), while at the same time we were overrun by Kovozavody Prostejov-kits. Nowadays, though, it's very much the opposite.
