Inventory No. 728: the new Airfix Spitfire PR.19 (1/72 scale, kit A02017). I still need to touch up the decals, and paint the propellor tips yellow, but except for that, it's ready.
The Spitfire PR.19 (or PR.XIX) was the ultimate reconnaissance Spitfire. It entered service in May 1944, posing a huge improvement over its predecessor, the Spitfire PR.XI. Unarmed but pressurised, it was capable of speeds of up to 445 mph (712 kph) at 26000 feet (7927m), and could operate at heights of up to 49000ft (14940m).
PS888 of 81 Squadron, the Spitfire this model depicts, was the last front-line Spitfire in Royal Air Force service, flying its last mission, a reconnaissance flight over Malaysia, on April 1st, 1954.

It does look lovely, mate, good job. Did you have any fitting problems? I'd like to hear your opinion about this kit - I want to buy this one and Airfix' 1/72 MkIXc.
